As part of our Black History Month celebrations, Afrori Books proudly presents an exclusive evening with The Unfolding Collective, a collaborative group of four renowned photographers: Beresford Hodge, Humphrey Nemar, Sharron Wallace and Phil Lewis.

These seasoned professionals have spent their careers capturing the world through diverse lenses, telling stories of wars, triumphs, tragedies, and victories. From photographing iconic figures like Muhammad Ali to documenting the heartbreaking aftermath of Grenfell, their work reflects a deep commitment to shifting narratives and offering new perspectives on global events. Each photographer is driven by the mission to combat the world as seen through the lens of a single socioeconomic group, and to provide equitable opportunities for the next generation of passionate photographers.

Throughout October, Afrori Books will display their stunning work in-store, giving visitors the chance to see their powerful storytelling up close. On the 4th October, you’ll have the unique opportunity to meet the photographers themselves, hear firsthand about their extraordinary experiences, and gain insight into their art and process.
