Feminism
Welcome to Afrori Books Feminist book club.
The feminist book club is a safe space to explore what feminism looks like when everyone is included.
Each month we will be talking about a different book by a Black author from our extensive range. We will meet in person to discuss the book that will have feminist themes or can be analysed through a feminist lens. Our book clubs are fun, enlightening and great places to meet new people.
The book club is open to all genders (Men and male-identifying people are also allowed to join) and the bookshop is a safe space for Black people and their allies. You do not have to consider yourself a feminist to join. All we ask is that you read part or all of the book before coming along and that you come with an open mind, ready for a lively chat.
Classics
Welcome to our classics book club—a friendly and inclusive space where readers of all backgrounds come together to explore and celebrate classic fiction by Black authors.
Whether you're a book club veteran or joining for the first time, you'll find a warm community here. Each month, we dive into novels by authors who shaped the writing world today. Expect to read James Baldwin, Sam Selvon, Zora Neale Hurston, Toni Morrison and many more. Our discussions are relaxed, engaging, and open to everyone—there's no pressure, just a shared love of great fiction and re-defining what makes a classic novel.

Why can't Black people find a seat at the table?
If the same man sits down takes the menu from the woman without asking and tells her he will be ordering for her, she would be peeved.
