Godden has produced a miraculously light-hearted novel, that feels comfortable in the right places yet it has a caustic, perceptive wit. The opening line of “Spoiler alert: We will all die in the end,” 

Described as latter-day Pilgrim’s Progress Salena's prose is often frank and conversational, her poetry is sparse and raw.

 SO how wonderful it is for us to spend an evening with her listening to her read extracts from her book and answering those pressing questions we all want answers to.
